I have long been a proponent of a strong park and greenway system. As an Eagle Scout, I have a great fondness and respect for nature, and the benefits of being outdoors. Our greenways and parks allow residents to get fresh air, exercise, and spend time together outdoors. Things like the Cross Charlotte Trail, our Community Recreation Centers, and our greenways are wonderful opportunities for residents across the county—but we need to do more. As your Commissioner, I will work hard to promote the expansion of parks and greenways throughout District 5, and across the county.
But don’t just take my word at that—look at what I accomplished as your Commissioner from 2012-2018:
-Pushed for a remodel of Midwood Park, including masonry repairs, and beautification of the park
-Successfully lobbied for the County to purchase three acres adjacent at Butterfly Park in Sedgefield, instead of allowing CMS to sell that land to a developer
-Successfully worked with a community organization on the West side of the County in order to accelerate the expansion of a greenway through their neighborhood
-Had fountains installed at the Park Road Park pond, in order to reduce algae bloom
I would appreciate your support this November, so I may continue to work hard for you, promoting greenways and parks across the county!
